Mantra: "Will my Future Self Thank Me for this?"

"Will my Future Self Thank Me for this?" I heard this golden nugget years ago, and love to follow it in my day-to-day life, and pass it on to clients. This lil push helps you motivate yourself. Let me give you some examples:

Should I unpack the car fully from the grocery run or leave the heavy items for another day? Do it now! Your future self won't have room in the car when you need it, and your future self won't have the items in the kitchen when you need them. So, you talk yourself into helping your future self, and bring in all the groceries every run upon coming home.

Should I unpack my luggage as soon as I come home from my trip? Yes, my future self will have clean, unpacked clothes if I start the laundry now, and if I put away my clothes and hygiene stuff now, I won't have to stress for the next month getting ready in the mornings with everything scattered between half-ass unpacked. This is gonna save me a lot of time, energy, stress if I do it now. This will help my Future Self.

Should I flush the toilet as I go, or should I put in the next 5 mins trying to do damage control with opening the window, spraying the room, using good-smelling soap while washing my hands, running the fan, flushing 2 more times, lighting a match? What if I just flush as I go and light a match instead? Not just your future self will thank you for this one!

It can be simple, little things. But start the mantra: "Will my Future Self Thank Me for this?" And then ACTUALLY THANK your past self! Seriously! I legit thank my past self when I go to load my car with the camping trip gear and no bulky items are in the trunk. I thank my past self for giving myself 15 mins to laze in bed before my REAL alarm goes off. I thank my past self when I make my daughter scoop the cat litter instead of playing on her ipad so the house doesn't stink. Thank yourself for Adulting!

Have an Organized Day!
