10 THINGS YOU CAN PURGE RIGHT NOW!

1) Old notes in notebooks, useless sticky notes, expired appointment reminders. To keep better track in the future, have just ONE notebook to use till completion instead of numerous styles of reminders. Use a notebook with dividers to keep things organized into major sections for your to-do's and reminders: House, Work, Personal. Purge your notebook once a week--cross off things or tear out the note and recycle it.

2) Jingling pet collars. Most people haven't thought about this, but would you want to hear jingling in your ears every time you moved? Create a silent collar or microchip your pet. Oftentimes, the jingling rabies shot medallion is expired anyways.
3) Coffee Mugs. Most Americans have an excess of these. Purge any that are chipped/broken/overly stained, you don't like the size of, you don't like the logo on the mug or the memories attached with it. Donate the mugs to Goodwill or a local mosaic artisan shop.

4) Holey than thou clothes.Socks, underwear, shoes, etc that have holes in them and are clearly worn out, go ahead and toss. Buy that brand new, inexpensive bag of replacement socks--treat yourself. You won't regret it. You got your use out of the old, holey ones.
5) Your hoard of free hotel hygiene products. In your guest bathroom, fill up a cotton ball jar of your favorite soaps/shampoos/conditioners. Donate the rest of your hoard to a local homeless shelter or domestic violence shelter where they actually need the items. The next hotel you stay at will have more.

Purge Clippings that no longer entice you.
6) Magazine and newspaper clippings. Go through them--what no longer interests you? Is that deck remodel no longer in the near future? Is that dress you wanted from a magazine in 2010--highly unlikely you'll be able to still order that dress.
7) Recipe books and notes. Donate the ones you truly, honestly aren't going to use. Just a few recipes you like out of the book? Snap a clear pic on your phone to save it, and donate the book.

8) Picture frames, wall art, blank photo albums, baby books you never did. You HAD the best intentions, but now it's just clutter. One man's junk, is another woman's treasure. Donate.
9) Vases and Candles. These decorative items are easy to collect over the years. Choose your favorite ones for keeps, and when deciding, be honest with yourself on how often you use vases or candles, or what sizes/styles you use and like.

Buyers Hate Cluttered Homes
10) Hair Products. Most clients have a few selections of shampoos just in their showers, not to mention their surplus under the bathroom sink or garage. Good ol' bulk shopping, right? Shampoos, conditioners, dry shampoos, hair sprays, brushes, combs, oils, gels, bobby pins everywhere, curlers, straight iron, hair dryers x3, hair bows galore. Get a garbage bag and fill 'er up. Donate to your local shelter. They'll be super appreciative. You can even hand the bag off at the next stoplight you come to with someone holding a Homeless sign.
