REMEMBER! How to Purge Paper Clutter: If it isn't a Tax Write-Off, Dispute or Sentimental, Recycle It! What's Your Paper-Pushing Personality? 1) The Sweeper You quickly sweep everything off the kitchen counter, dining room table and desk into boxes. You dump the boxes in the guest room turned junk room or stack them in the garage. Then you pray guests don't open that door! 2) The Piler You pile papers on top of your desk. Add a little more. Sprinkle some junk mail. Add some documents--but you lay them criss-cross style on top of one another. You have a sense of where everything is, but you no longer have a desk to work on. Piles take over the floor and any surface in sight. You rue the phrase, "Out of Sight, Out of Mind." But has the clutter chaos already made you go out of your mind? 3) The Avoider You lay it down, any ol' where, and sneak away before it can pounce on you. 4) The Stuffer You cram the papers in desk and kitchen drawers, boxes and containers, and sometimes, the papers actually make it into the filing cabinet. On the outside, your home and office look very neat and tidy. Just don't open up any drawers or closets!
